Job description

NestAI is a European AI lab for defence delivering the adaptive operating system for modern battlefield operations. We develop adaptive intelligence for unmanned and command systems: AI that continuously learns from operational data and adapts to changing conditions.

NestOS is our open, modular, and interoperable platform that enables this at scale and keeps capability evolution under sovereign European control. Founded in 2025 by Peter Sarlin, whose previous company Silo AI became Europe's largest AI acquisition, NestAI brings together over 150 engineers and scientists and partners with leading European defence forces and industry.

Role Description

We are building the next generation of release pipelines and test infrastructure for autonomous systems. You will take the ownership of a continuous software delivery pipeline for edge software.

In this role, you will bridge autonomy, connectivity, and platform software. You will drive the strategy and implementation of continuous integration and delivery processes, and work as a release manager to bring multiple components together in a rapid iteration cycle.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Drive Continuous Release Automation: Build and mature our CI/CD pipelines to support rapid delivery cycles, with the ultimate target of fully automated nightly releases across our drone platforms.
  • Expand Simulation & Test Automation: Collaborate with validation, simulation and DevOps teams on our automated test suites. Focus on expanding full-stack simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments so new features are thoroughly validated in simulation before deployment.
  • Software & System Integration: integrate software components across autonomy, secure connectivity, and platform systems into coherent release candidates. Unify configuration management tools.
  • Coordinate the Release Train: Facilitate cross-team collaboration in planning and implementation. Ensure clear communication and feature readiness along the agile release train.
  • Hands-on Continuous improvement: Take direct ownership of integration challenges. Prioritize, investigate and dive into solving problems directly rather than waiting for someone else to do it.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Integration & Release Background: Solid experience in software engineering, release automation, or continuous integration for complex software systems.
  • Automation & Simulation Mindset: Demonstrated experience expanding test automation frameworks, ideally leveraging simulation engines, ROS (Robot Operating System), or virtual testing environments.
  • Agile Facilitation & Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to align multidisciplinary teams. Experience as a Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, or Technical Team Lead is highly valued.
  • Pragmatic Problem Solver: A proactive "get-it-done" attitude with a preference for diving into code and building clean solutions.
  • Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, C++, and modern build/CI infrastructure tooling.
  • Containerization: Practical experience using Docker for build automation and managing image registries.
  • Proficiency with AI tools for efficiency gains is preferred

At NestAI, you’ll build meaningful, real-world technology as part of a world-class team of engineers, scientists, and experienced professionals. You’ll work on systems where reliability genuinely matters, contribute to Europe’s security and resilience, and solve problems that demand depth, trust, and craftsmanship.

If you want to build with purpose - and with leading experts in the field - you’ve come to the right place.

We offer a growing set of practical benefits to support your work and wellbeing, day to day:
