Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop application engineer to lead design, architecture, and development for its Windows platform. You will work with WinUI, C#, and possibly C++ to build robust, accessible desktop apps that perform across Windows 10/11+.

Collaboration with product, UX, and QA will shape feature roadmaps and long-term platform plans. You will own features from conception through release and maintenance, solving complex performance and rendering challenges.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI and C#/XAML.
• Experience with interop between managed (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with focus on performance and reliability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK/WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++.
• Define best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility by integrating UI Automation and ensuring keyboard focus, screen-reader support, and usable UI.
• Collaborate with product, UX, QA to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for Windows platform.
• Own features end-to-end from concept to release and maintenance, ensuring quality and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and rendering issues with robust solutions.
