Your opportunity
As a Senior System Specialist, you will lead global and regional network operations, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across the organization. In this role, you’ll provide advanced (L2/L3) support, resolve complex network issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure. You’ll also enforce IT security policies, manage network assets, and support critical systems through proactive monitoring and structured change management. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to drive network performance and stability in a dynamic, global environment. This role reports into our Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services.
Where you’ll be
You will be located at one of the listed Fiber/Foodservice locations, or at our HQ in Espoo, Finland.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee global and regional network operations, ensuring seamless connectivity across diverse environments.
- Provide expert-level (L2/L3) support for network issues, solving complex problems and keeping critical systems running smoothly.
- Manage and prioritize support tickets efficiently, maintaining high service standards and fast response times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, support, and improve IT infrastructure solutions.
- Coordinate with top-tier vendors and service providers, ensuring optimal performance and issue resolution.
- Work closely with global Shared Services Teams, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing IT environment.
- Enforce and support IT security policies, helping to protect global network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues through deep analysis, proactive monitoring, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Drive network improvements and upgrades, executing changes through structured change management processes.
- Manage network asset inventory, including lifecycle tracking and configuration data via CMDB.
- Utilize SolarWinds and other tools to maintain visibility and performance across network systems.
- Be a key point of support during on-site emergencies, ensuring rapid recovery and business continuity.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Secondary degree in Information Systems, engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in network L2 or L3 support.
- Proficient in managing LAN, SASE, WAN, SD WAN and Wi-Fi networks.
- Experience with Event/Incident/Problem/Change/Configuration Management.
- Palo Alto Networks and Cisco / Meraki experience for Networks.
- Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Creative problem-solving, time management, and flexibility to shift priorities.
- Ability to work independently without need for supervision.
- Server management and Vmware NSX skills is an advantage.
- Experience from manufacturing organizations is an advantage.
- Network EDU is an advantage (PA EDU 220 & 318, Cisco CCNA, PCNSE, PCNSA, Meraki L3, CompTia Network +, Python basics).
