Job summary

Kesko is seeking a (Senior) Data Engineer to shape a Snowflake-based data platform for analytics, AI and business development within Building and Technical Trade. The role blends hands-on data engineering with architectural influence, reporting to the Central Data & Analytics Platforms team.

You will collaborate with BI analysts, analytics engineers and business stakeholders, building scalable dbt pipelines and data models, while mentoring colleagues and advancing standards across the data

Qualifications

• Snowflake, dbt and SQL hands-on data engineering
• DevOps mindset with CI/CD in a data context
• Experience with data warehousing/ETL and SAP BW data models
• Familiarity with cataloging, lineage, semantic views and data governance
• Big-picture thinking across source data, modelling, transformations and reporting
• Mentoring and knowledge sharing to grow data engineering practices
• Interest in applying AI to speed up development and maintenance
• Excellent English communication and teamwork skills
• Self-driven with initiative and independent problem solving
• Experience with SAP, Aspect4 or web-based business apps in building/technical trade

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of Snowflake solutions for BTT
• Define Snowflake development practices and modelling approaches
• Mentor BTT data team members and collaborate with BI analysts and stakeholders
• Design, build and optimize dbt-based data pipelines and data models
