Job summary

Supercell in Helsinki seeks a Senior Security Engineer to partner with our global IT and game teams to design, build, and automate security improvements across cloud infrastructure, AI workflows, and data access. You will help detect threats, implement robust mitigations, and strengthen our security culture.

You’ll integrate tooling into teams’ workflows, participate in on-call and incident response, and drive risk-based decisions with clear communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience with SSO, endpoint protection, logging and metrics, cloud-native deployments and security.
• Experience with IP networking, routing, firewalls, VLANs and network segregation.
• Ability to automate processes and build tooling for teams.
• Ability to assess risk and design mitigations.
• Experience building tooling used by the team, AI integrated into workflow.
• Ability to explain security concepts without jargon.
• Proactive and curious mindset.

Job description

Supercell Information Security team is looking for a Senior Security Engineer! Our team provides information security insights, services, and solutions for the whole company. We take our part in upholding the Supercell culture of team autonomy and openness very seriously, and do our utmost to help each team develop and choose the solutions that best fit their needs. As a Security Engineer, you will work very closely with our global IT team to design, build and automate security improvements that make us and our players more secure, while at the same time aiming to improve user experience and remove roadblocks. You will also work with our game and central server tech teams to improve our capabilities in detecting and responding to attacks on our cloud infrastructure. In addition, you will be at the forefront of developing pragmatic solutions for securing cutting-edge AI use by figuring out how to secure agent identities, agentic access to data and overall AI infrastructure with our AI, Cloud and other teams.

While you may be aware of compliance requirements, we’re not here to tick boxes, rather to do meaningful improvements that make us better in things that matter. You enjoy developing automation and securing complex systems, yet you realize a major part of security is not achievable with systems, only with human-to-human interaction. You don’t enjoy blasting people around you with security jargon but are comfortable examining the pros and cons of choices in a way professionals of other trades can grasp. You also understand when it’s necessary to act fast, as well as when to step back and look at the bigger picture in a more analytical fashion.

What You'll Be Doing

• Participate in defining what information security means at Supercell, on both strategic and tactical level
• Work in close cooperation with our global IT team on all of their security needs
• Help integrate security tooling into team and individual workflows in a pragmatic way
• Facilitate security assessments, remediations and drive projects forward
• Work with external consultants to implement parts of our information security toolkit
• Help define AI strategy and safety protocols
• Take part in on-call and Incident Response activities

What You Have

• 5+ years of applicable experience
• Experience in modern tooling (SSO, endpoint protection, logging and metrics, cloud-native deployments and security)
• Experience with IP networking, routing, firewalls, VLANs and network segregation
• Creativity in automating everything that makes sense to automate, either due to passion or due to profound laziness in doing stuff robots do better than us
• Ability to evaluate risk and design measured mitigations
• Experience building tooling or automation your team relies on. AI is part of how you work day to day
• Ability to step away from security jargon and focus on what’s important
• Proactivity and a curious mind

Would Be Nice if You Also Have

• Familiarity with information security requirements, processes, frameworks and tools
• Experience with security tooling and infrastructure automation on AWS or GCP
• Hands-on experience with one or more of Okta, VMWare Workspace One, Palo Alto Panorama and Cortex

This role is based in our Helsinki office. We value a collaborative work environment and genuine human interactions. You will work closely with our other Helsinki-based teams, such as Cloud, IT, or Server Tech.
