Job summary

Mercury is the European leader in construction solutions and seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Vaasa, Finland. You will manage contract documentation, commercial control of sub-contracts, and forecast cash flows on large-scale projects.

The role requires 5+ years in QS/engineering, strong Excel and analytical skills, and fluent English. CSA/MEP background is a plus; SAP experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in a QS or engineering role with commercial exposure.
• Broad understanding of subcontracts.
• CSA/MEP discipline experience is valued.
• Strong numerical ability and figure skills.
• Ability to negotiate with clients and subcontractors professionally.
• Experience using Excel; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Fluent written and spoken English for this QS role.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand project contract documentation.
• Prepare and analyse supplier and sub-contractor enquiries.
• Prepare and issue contract documents to our supply chain.
• Monitor scope changes and pricing of variations.
• Prepare and agree monthly progress applications.
• Financial and contractual control of sub-contractor accounts.
• Issuing of contractual notices and evaluate loss and expense/acceleration claims.
• Provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates.
• Preparation of monthly commercial project reports.
• Provide data and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management.
• Managing and forecasting of project cash flows.
• Liaising with the client, main contractor and other departments.
• All other duties associated with this role.
