Job summary

V7 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major 200 MW hyperscale data centre programme, based on-site in Lohja, Finland. The role focuses on commercial delivery from a contractor/PMC perspective, managing costs, valuations, variations, and contract risk.

You will report to the Cost and Contract Lead, oversee subcontractor valuations, lead change management, review payment applications, and maintain financial reporting while coordinating with design consultants and client teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects.
• Solid understanding of CSA and MEP packages.
• Ability to read civil, structural and architectural drawings/BIM models.
• Familiarity with measurement software and data presentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial and contract administration between client and main contractor.
• Lead monthly subcontractor valuations, payment certification, and PMC applications for payment.
• Identify, assess and lead change/variation management from cost, risk, scope and schedule perspectives.
• Review contractor payment applications and verify progress against drawings and schedules.
• Maintain live commercial registers, correspondence, and financial reporting.
• Liaise with design consultants, cost managers, commissioning teams and client stakeholders.
• Promote HSE and confidentiality standards at all times.

Location: Lohja, Finland | 24-month contract | Rotational

We're recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major 200 MW hyperscale data centre programme across Finland based on-site in Lohja. This is a rare opportunity to take a senior commercial role on a large-scale, mission-critical construction project with strong long-term progression potential.

About the Role

Reporting into the Cost and Contract Lead, you'll manage the commercial delivery of the project from a contractor/PMC perspective — overseeing costs, valuations, variations, and contract risk across CSA and MEP packages, while building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider client team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial and contract administration, acting as the link between client and main contractor
• Lead monthly subcontractor valuations, payment certification, and PMC applications for payment
• Identify, assess, and lead change/variation management from cost, risk, scope, and schedule perspectives
• Review contractor payment applications and verify progress against drawings and schedules
• Maintain live commercial registers, correspondence, and financial reporting
• Liaise with design consultants, cost managers, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders
• Promote HSE and confidentiality standards at all times

What We're Looking For

• Senior QS experience within construction, ideally with 3+ years on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects
• Solid understanding of CSA and MEP packages
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractor accounts, valuations, and variations
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings/BIM models
• Familiarity with measurement software (Bluebeam or similar)
• Strong Excel, financial reporting, and data presentation skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with FIDIC contract suite (desirable)

• 24-month contract, rotational basis (long weekend off every 3 weeks)
