Job summary

Cyient in Finland (Vaasa, Pietarsaari) seeks a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to lead dynamic simulation studies and end-to-end grid-code compliance projects for diverse industrial clients. You will develop models in PSSE, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory and ETAP, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with global customers and teams to deliver robust, reliable power-system solutions.

The role requires strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Fluent in spoken and written English; Finnish or Swedish advantageous
• Strong presentation skills
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Project management skills are an advantage

Responsibilities

• Lead dynamic/transient simulation studies using PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSS/E for grid-connection and compliance projects
• Own end-to-end delivery of grid code compliance studies including model build and validation
• Develop and maintain user-defined dynamic models (generators, converters, BESS, HVDC/FACTS) to client and grid-operator specs
• Support black-start, islanding, and power quality/harmonics studies for power plant and industrial clients
• Act as technical point of contact for client stakeholders on dynamic simulation scope and findings
• Review and validate models and reports produced by India-based PSS engineers; enforce quality standards
• Contribute to internal model library and template development for consistency and speed
• Support proposal and bid input for dynamic simulation scope on new RFQs
• Mentor and upskill junior engineers on dynamic simulation tools and modelling best practice
