Job summary

NestAI in Tampere is seeking a senior/lead software engineer to shape tracking and re-id within the Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) pipeline that runs on unmanned and command systems. You’ll help define how tracking and re-id fit into the broader ATR system and guide junior engineers on the team.

You will design online and offline tracking with coherent IDs across frames, collaborate with detector/model teams, and contribute to benchmarking and validation efforts to ensure robust performance.

Qualifications

• Experience taking systems into production in an industry context.
• Hands-on video analytics experience.
• Strong background in multi-object tracking (MOT) for online and offline use.
• Experience with object re-identification (re-id).
• Solid understanding of object detection as input to tracking/re-id.
• Experience with GStreamer, DeepStream or DLStreamer is a plus.
• Academic background is a plus.
• Background in 3D vision is a plus.
• Experience with model optimization for edge inference is a plus.
• Experience building or working with ML validation/benchmarking pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement tracking and re-id as part of the ATR pipeline.
• Build tracking for online live video and offline recorded video with coherent IDs across frames.
• Address re-identification challenges after occlusion or across sessions.
• Collaborate with detector and model optimization engineers to integrate tracking/re-id.
• Work with the validation pipeline to benchmark tracking and re-id accuracy.
• Mentor junior team members.
