Job summary

Metso is seeking a Senior Manager, Special Logistics to lead the Central Special Logistics region (ECA & AFR) within Services Supply Chain. You will manage a team of six professionals, ensure reliable deliveries, and drive continuous improvement, transformation, and data-driven decision making across global partners.

You will report to the Director, Special Logistics, and be based in Espoo or Tampere, Finland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
• Several years of leadership experience within logistics, supply chain, transportation, or delivery operations in an international environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience using operational and performance data to drive decisions, process improvements and operational excellence.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations and cultures.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions and levels.
• Experience managing complex logistics operations, critical deliveries, and high-impact escalations.
• Experience leading transformation, change management, and operational excellence initiatives.

Introduction

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Special Logistics to join the Services Supply Chain organization and lead the Central Special Logistics region (ECA & AFR). Special Logistics is divided into three regions: West, Central, and East. In this role, you will lead the Central Specialist Logistics organization, overseeing a team of logistics professionals and driving operational excellence, business performance, and continuous improvement across the region. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable customer deliveries, enabling business growth, and building a high-performing Special Logistics organization capable of adapting to evolving customer and business requirements. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across global teams, functions, customers, and logistics partners. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future direction of Special Logistics across the Central region and play a key role in supporting Metso's customer deliveries and business growth. You will report to Burcu Sahin, Director, Special Logistics, and be based in Espoo or Tampere, Finland.

Team you'll belong to

You will lead a team of six Special Logistics professionals responsible for supplier-direct deliveries, customer-specific logistics requirements, and specialized logistics execution. Our team plays a key role in ensuring reliable customer deliveries by enabling seamless collaboration across the supply chain, maintaining high standards of delivery execution, documentation quality, and process compliance, and supporting business growth through specialized logistics capabilities. We collaborate closely with Procurement, Delivery Management, Customer Service, Trade Compliance, Logistics Service Providers, and external suppliers and partners. Our global team is based across multiple countries, and our ways of working emphasize accountability, customer focus, proactive collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a regional team of Special Logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive reliable and compliant execution of specialized logistics processes that require close coordination across suppliers, customers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for critical delivery challenges, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business and customer impact.
• Proactively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities, remove barriers, and improve logistics performance and customer experience.
• Analyse operational performance, delivery trends, and key metrics to identify risks and opportunities, translating insights into actionable improvement initiatives.
• Drive fact-based decision making and operational excellence through performance management, standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Lead transformation and change management initiatives, driving adoption of new ways of working, digital solutions, and a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Lead and implement regional improvement and transformation initiatives that strengthen business performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term organizational capability.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience leading transformation, change management, and operational excellence initiatives, with the ability to influence mindsets, drive organizational adoption, and translate strategic objectives into sustainable business improvements.
• Nice to have: Experience with digitalization, analytics, automation, SAP, Power BI, or other supply chain technology solutions.
