Job summary

Huhtamaki invites an experienced Senior Manager to shape the fiber-based barrier technology roadmap. Based in Espoo or Hämeenlinna with one remote day weekly, you will guide barrier innovations from concept to commercialization and manage collaborations with suppliers and research institutions.

You will lead testing protocols, coordinate pilot and production trials, and drive IP development while communicating complex concepts across teams and audiences.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Emulsion Chemistry, Polymer Science, Surface Chemistry, Dispersion Chemistry, Coating Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Ideally 10+ years of industrial experience in barrier materials, coatings, laminations, specialty chemicals, or related technologies.
• Proven expertise in fiber-based packaging barriers, coating formulations, barrier chemistries, and application technologies.
• Fluent English with strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the fiber and barrier technology roadmap across paperboard and molded fiber platforms.
• Translate roadmaps into commercial development projects for short and mid-term growth.
• Oversee lab, pilot, and production-scale trials with actionable development plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align material science with manufacturing processes.
• Build partnerships with suppliers, research institutions, and technology partners globally.
