Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Lead Cloud Architecture & Governance to define the enterprise cloud vision and guide architecture decisions across Azure and AWS. You will lead the Cloud Center of Excellence, steer large-scale transformation programs, and ensure secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud platforms globally.

You will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and business teams to drive cloud modernization, governance, and FinOps, while engaging senior stakeholders and strategic partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS, IT, engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in cloud architecture and governance across Azure and AWS.
• Proven track record leading cloud transformation, migration and modernization initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, governance and FinOps.
• Leadership experience influencing stakeholders across global enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise cloud architecture vision and roadmap across Azure and AWS.
• Lead and continuously develop Valmet's Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), ensuring alignment between cloud strategy, architecture, governance, security, and business objectives.
• Govern strategic cloud partners and managed service providers, ensuring delivery quality, architectural compliance, and alignment with Valmet's technology strategy.
• Provide architectural oversight across cloud initiatives, including migrations, modernization programs, and platform standardization.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure cloud solutions are secure, compliant, and scalable.
• Establish cloud financial governance and FinOps practices to maximize business value, transparency, and cost efficiency while reducing technology risk and ensuring vendor compliance with Valmet's architecture standards.

Your responsibilities

Expectations for you

• You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• You have extensive experience in cloud architecture and governance across Azure and AWS.
• You have experience driving enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiatives in complex global organizations.
• You have proven success leading cloud transformation, migration, and modernization programs.
• You have strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, governance, and FinOps practices.
• You have leadership experience driving architecture decisions and influencing stakeholders across complex enterprise environments. Experience leading architecture, cloud engineering, or virtual expert teams is considered an advantage.
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures, landing zones, identity services, networking, cloud security, and infrastructure modernization is considered a strong advantage.
• Professional cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, or similar are considered a strong advantage.
• You communicate effectively in English and can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, global teams, and strategic technology partners.
