Job summary

Skylo is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to architect and scale our internal IT infrastructure and corporate networks. You’ll bridge daily IT operations with a growing cross-continental engineering and operations team, focusing on IAM, MDM, and enterprise networking.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience with modern IAM platforms, cloud-first device management, and automation, plus a proactive mindset toward AI-driven tooling and self-service workflows.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This role is based in Espoo, Finland, one of Skylo's core engineering hubs and fastest-growing sites. You'll work onsite three days a week as part of a team that's scaling quickly.

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

As the Senior IT Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, scaling, and maintaining Skylo's internal IT infrastructure, corporate networks, and employee productivity tools. You will act as a senior technical anchor—bridging day-to-day corporate IT operations with the advanced needs of our cross-continental engineering and operations teams. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical proficiency in modern Identity and Access Management (IAM), cloud-first fleet management (MDM), and enterprise networking, along with a forward-thinking mindset that leans heavily into automation and AI tools.

How You Will Contribute

• Infrastructure & Cloud Operations: Work with India and Finland IT team to Own, monitor, and scale Skylo's global IT footprint across offices in the US, Finland, and India. Manage cloud productivity suites (Google Workspace/Enterprise) and essential SaaS tools (Slack, Jira/Confluence, GitHub, Zoom).
• Identity & Fleet Management: Design and optimize role-based access controls (RBAC) and user lifecycle workflows via modern IAM platforms (e.g., Okta). Manage and secure a highly distributed, mixed-OS fleet (primarily macOS with some Windows) utilizing advanced MDM solutions (Jamf, Kandji, Intune).
• Enterprise Networking: Implement and maintain robust, high-performance corporate office network infrastructure. Ensure maximum uptime and security using firewalls, VPNs, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), VLANs, and enterprise Wi-Fi 6 environments.
• Security & Compliance Collaboration: Partner closely with our InfoSec and Network Engineering teams to enforce rigid security frameworks. Actively maintain system compliance documentation and audit readiness for SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Automation & AI Integration: Proactively identify manual, repetitive workflows (such as IT onboarding or ticketing pipelines) and design automated, self-service resolutions using modern scripting languages and generative AI-driven tools.
• Tier 3 Support Escalation: Act as the highest tier of engineering support for complex, cross-functional corporate IT issues, maintaining strict service level objectives (SLOs) while providing high-touch support to global staff and leadership.

What We Look For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in an IT Systems/Infrastructure role, with a proven track record of handling mid-to-large scale tech environments.
• Environment Expertise: Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) office productivity,Google Workspace, Okta, Jira/Confluence, Slack, Office 365 and IT Asset Management
• 3-6 plus years in IT Service Desk / IT Technical Support with escalation handling experience.
• Networking Foundations: Working knowledge of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/Wi-Fi troubleshooting),Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Execution & Drive: The ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Administrator, Jamf Certified Admin, CCNA, or AWS/GCP Cloud Practitioner).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL) are a plus.
