Job summary

Nordea Bank Norge ASA in Helsinki is seeking a senior lead developer to join the Service Domain Fraud Technology on a full-time basis. You will drive technical excellence, lead teams, mentor developers, and translate complex requirements into robust software within the Financial Crime Prevention domain.

Collaborate with Product Owners and Architects, refine epics, and advise on tools and processes to strengthen security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication to facilitate technical meetings and coach developers.
• Senior mindset with experience in building scalable, high-concurrency distributed systems.
• Ability to lead implementation of architecture and compliance requirements.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, Hadoop and SQL.
• Proficiency in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing and microservices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated and unit testing, profiling and performance testing.
• Knowledge of using AI tools and LLMs to enhance development workflows.

About our team

Meet the Service Domain Fraud Technology. We are part of the Service Area Financial Crime Technology. We are a fairly large team with a mix of people from different backgrounds and with different skills, with one thing in common; to excel in providing tools, applications and IT-development to prevent the bank and our customer to fall victim of fraud.

Main responsibilities in this role includes:

• Acting as a Lead/Senior Developer within the Financial Crime Prevention domain, driving technical excellence and innovation
• Leading technical teams by setting high development standards, implementing industry best practices, and mentoring other developers
• Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Analyst
• Refining epics and user stories, ensuring clear alignment between business goals and technical execution
• Translating solution architecture into robust technical designs and high-quality, working software
• Advising on the selection of tools, technologies, and processes to optimize development within the Fraud area

Who you are

This is the right role for you if have:

• Strong leadership & communication: Proven ability tofacilitatetechnical meetings, lead and coach developers, and communicate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Senior mindset: Senior-level experience in building scalable, high-concurrency, and distributed systems with a focus on high availability and throughput.
• Ability to lead implementation of an architecture and compliance requirements

Your background and skills include:

• Good knowledge of Integration Patterns, APIs and RESTFul API Design, deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, Hadoop and SQL
• Architecture & Patterns: Practical expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing, Microservices architecture, and Clean Code principles
• Cloud & Modern Tooling: Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms integrations and a solid understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Good understanding of automated and unit testing, code profiling and performance testing
• Practical knowledge of using AI tools and LLMs to enhance development workflows or integrate intelligent features into products

It would be ideal if you also have:

• Knowledge of Software Security, TDD, and Junit
• Experience in banking or financial crime prevention sector
