Job summary

Hypermine seeks a Design Engineer in Espoo to join a fast-paced team developing a mobile platform for hyperspectral sensing hardware. The role involves defining concepts, prototyping, and guiding the product through validation and production in challenging environments.

You will contribute to mechanical architecture, power and thermal systems, and environmental protections, with travel as needed. An advanced degree in engineering and hands-on hardware experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial experience in hardware design in field of instrument engineering.
• Experience in building devices for field applications, and for harsh environments.
• Understanding of battery-based power supply systems, and temperature stabilization systems.
• Proficient with standard tools for technical design documentation (3D CAD, 2D drafting, electrical CAD)
• Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or in a comparable field
• Experience in testing and certification process for ATEX (IECEx), EMC, IP rating, Mechanical & Structural integrity (IEC 60068)
• Knowledge in optical sensing systems, preferably hyperspectral

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing hardware for a mobile platform to integrate Hypermine sensing system.
• Developing system solutions for mechanical architecture, power supply chain, thermal management, and environmental protection.
• Defining product concepts, building prototypes, and supporting the full product development lifecycle from design through validation, testing and production.
• Supporting product integration, customer demonstrations, commissioning, and product improvements.
