Job summary

Wolt Oy in Helsinki (Hybrid) is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Merchant EMEA Engineering team. You will build and maintain production software across backend services and user-facing applications, focusing on onboarding, analytics, recommendations, and integrations.

You should have proven experience in backend, frontend, or fullstack development, strong knowledge of Go, Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript/React, and a solid grasp of APIs, databases and testing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production software in backend, frontend, or fullstack.
• Strong expertise in at least one stack area (backend or frontend).
• Experience with Go, Kotlin, Java or TypeScript/React.
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, testing, and software design fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams.
• Strong communication and pragmatic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production software across backend services and user-facing applications.
• Develop APIs, data models, services, and features.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, operations, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Own features from implementation through production and maintenance.
• Contribute to design discussions and improve scalability, observability, maintainability.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools effectively and assess output critically.
• Be willing to work outside primary area to solve end-to-end problems.
