Job summary

If Insurance is seeking an experienced software engineer to drive Next.js adoption within our Nordic-focused Digital services unit. You will mentor teammates, promote best practices, and strengthen overall Next.js capabilities while delivering web services and APIs using C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs, JavaScript, React, Next.js, and Razor.

Qualifications

Multiple years of software development experience at mid or senior level.
Deep knowledge of backend development with C#/.NET.
Strong front-end skills with React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript.
Experience with Azure, Git environments, PRs and code reviews.
Solid HTML/CSS knowledge (Tailwind).
Experience with REST APIs and SQL Server/EF/NoSQL.
Good communication, collaboration, and agile teamwork.
Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Lead the adoption of Next.js in our development landscape and mentor team members.
Design and deliver web services and APIs with cross-functional agile teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine user stories and requirements.
Contribute to CI/CD, testing, and code review processes.
Work across Nordic locations with regular in-person collaboration.

About The Role

We're excited to introduce Next.js into our development landscape and are looking for someone with strong expertise in the framework to help lead the journey. You will act as a catalyst for adoption, mentoring team members, promoting best practices, and strengthening the team's overall capability in Next.js.

Working in one of our cross-functional agile teams, you will help design and deliver web services that provide smooth customer experiences across the Nordic countries.

Together with your team, you will build web solutions and APIs using Azure-hosted services, leveraging C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs, JavaScript, React, Next.js, and Razor.

Test automation and continuous integration are a natural part of your workflow. You will also collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and refine user stories.

About The Team

Our web applications provide Nordic customers with modern self-service solutions for managing insurance, claims, and payments. The team continuously improves these services and develops APIs that support other digital channels, including mobile apps.

You will join a cross-functional agile team with colleagues in Turku, Espoo, Riga, and Stockholm. The team is supportive, ambitious, and committed to continuous improvement. As part of the Oasis tribe, you will help deliver services that keep customers well supported, informed, and correctly insured across the Nordics. Although the team works across multiple locations, there are regular opportunities to meet colleagues in person.

You will also be part of a chapter, a community of developers with similar competencies. Chapters help ensure our teams have the technical capabilities they need today and in the future. Together with your peers, you will shape learning topics, share knowledge, and grow your expertise with support from your Chapter Lead.

You Also Have

Multiple years of experience in software development (mid or senior level)
Deep knowledge of backend software development with C#/.NET
Good understanding of REST API development (.NET)
Front-end development experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript
Experience with Azure, Git environments, pull requests, and code reviews
Solid understanding of HTML and CSS (tailwind)
Experience with integration of third-party services via API
Strong communication skills to articulate complex concepts and logic to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Problem-solving and adaptability, including critical thinking and resourceful solution design
Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with practices such as code reviews and pair programming
Fluent English skills, both spoken and written
Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, other AI assistants or agentic development is an advantage
Experience with SQL Server, Entity Framework, or NoSQL
Relevant bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent work experience
