You will determine orthography for dialects, mark disfluencies and non-speech events, and flag audio quality issues. This role emphasizes expert linguistic judgment over data entry, with paid pilot tasks and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in Finnish with deep immersion in Finland.
• Mastery of standard Finnish orthography and spoken-language conventions.
• Two+ years of professional transcription, captioning, or linguistic annotation.
• Ability to commit to defined weekly volume during active projects.
• Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and audio playback.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text per style guide.
• Apply conventions for speaker identification, overlap, disfluencies, and non-speech events.
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialects and code-switching.
• Flag ambiguous segments and quality issues according to project conventions.
• Self-review submissions and collaborate with QA for edge cases.
