Job summary

Orion Pharma in Turku, Finland seeks a motivated Discovery Pathologist to support drug discovery and translational research in oncology and pain. The role focuses on histopathology, digital pathology, and data interpretation within the VivoScience unit of the Integrated DMPK & Safety department.

You will collaborate with toxicologic pathologists and veterinarians to provide scientific insights, develop image analysis workflows, and contribute to target and safety evaluations for ongoing programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in veterinary medicine with pathology focus; postgraduate studies encouraged.
• Knowledge of lab animal anatomy, physiology and pathology.
• Experience in necropsies and histopathological evaluation of tissues.
• Interest in applying pathology in drug discovery and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Provide preclinical pathology expertise to support discovery projects.
• Perform necropsies and interpret histopathological findings across studies.
• Generate, analyse and report high-quality pathology data for decisions.
• Contribute to design, monitoring and interpretation of studies.
• Act as pathology subject matter expert in multidisciplinary teams.
• Support interpretation of tissue responses and safety findings.
• Utilise and develop digital pathology workflows and image analysis.
