Job summary

Orion Pharma is seeking a motivated Discovery Pathologist to join the VivoScience unit within the Integrated DMPK & Safety department in Turku, Finland. This permanent, full-time role focuses on histopathological evaluation and digital pathology to support drug discovery and development across oncology and pain programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in veterinary medicine with pathology training.
• Knowledge of lab animal anatomy, physiology and pathology.
• Expertise in necropsies and histopathology.
• Interest in applying pathology to drug discovery.
• Understanding of non-clinical studies in development.
• Interest in digital pathology and image analysis.
• Ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
• Strong writing, reporting and presentation skills.
• Excellent collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive approach to innovation.

Responsibilities

• Provide preclinical pathology expertise to support drug discovery and translational studies.
• Perform necropsies and interpret histopathological findings.
• Generate, analyse and report high-quality pathology data.
• Contribute to study design and interpretation of discovery and pharmacology studies.
• Act as pathology SME in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support interpretation of tissue responses and safety assessments in discovery studies.
• Develop pathology, digital pathology, and image analysis workflows.
• Contribute to learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
