Job summary

Forge Digital Oy is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate production infrastructure and CI/CD platforms for client projects. You will own environments across hybrid cloud setups, implementing IaC with Terraform and automation with Ansible while mentoring teammates.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. The role is full-time with a flexible hybrid model in Tampere and Helsinki.

What we look for

As a (Senior) DevOps Engineer at Forge, you will design, build, and operate infrastructure and CI/CD platforms for our customer projects — taking ownership of production environments across hybrid cloud environments. Your day-to-day involves Infrastructure as Code, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and continuously improving system reliability and security. Our projects serve sectors where system uptime and reliability are not optional. As a senior member of the team, we also expect you to guide technical decisions, mentor colleagues, and help improve our DevOps practices.

The following capabilities are what we consider essential

• Linux System Administration: Solid hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting Linux environments, especially in a cloud context.
• AWS: Understanding of core AWS services, infrastructure deployment, cloud networking, security and best-practice architectures.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform for provisioning cloud resources and Ansible for configuration management and automation workflows. We also use Python and Bash for task automation and scripting.
• CI/CD Tooling: Experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, including work with runners, containerised build environments, and pipeline configurations.
• Communication & Customer Interaction: As a senior engineer in a consultancy setting, you are comfortable communicating with clients and collaborating across teams.

The following experience is considered an advantage

• Strong Git skills and prior experience with GitLab, including GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience running and maintaining a self-managed GitLab environment.
• Monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Willingness to run maintenance procedures outside of normal working hours when needed.
