Job summary

Zalando Finland Oy is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Campaign and Content Platforms team in Helsinki. You will own data products architecture, design scalable ELT pipelines, and enforce data governance across Unity Catalog and Delta Live Tables.

Ideal candidates have deep Databricks expertise, Spark/PySpark, Python, and a track record building streaming and batch data pipelines. This role offers a dynamic, international environment with opportunities to influence data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience with the Databricks ecosystem (Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables).
• Strong knowledge of Bronze/Silver/Gold Medallion Architecture and Delta Lake internals.
• Proficiency in Spark (PySpark) and Python for large-scale data processing.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for Data Products architecture, development and quality.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using Delta Live Tables.
• Define data contracts with source systems and ensure governance and security in Unity Catalog.
• Improve data quality and pipeline reliability through analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with development teams and Zalando Data Foundation; document methods and learnings.
