What kind of work is this?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure) to support and optimize our cloud infrastructure and runtime environments, focusing on:

If you have expertise in cloud platforms, especially in Azure Cloud, landing zones management, containerization managed solutions like AKS, Azure DevOps, monitoring solutions, incident management, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), along with a knack for solving complex technical challenges, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge technologies, drive automation, and optimize cloud operations. You and the team will support regional Operations teams in their customer-facing roles, as well as multiple application development teams to ensure our solutions are well-fitted to the platform.

This role is based in Global Operations under the Head of Cloud, a newly established team. It's an exciting time to join and influence our future!

We offer flexibility in job location, with offices in Helsinki and Oulu, and options for hybrid or remote work (Finland).

Your main responsibilities include:

• Lead the enforcement of best practices based on Azure Well-Architected Framework pillars and CAF framework
• Support capacity planning procedures
• Reduce manual work (toil) through automation
• Maintain runtime environments to improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security following ISO 27001 standards
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance for high availability and responsiveness
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) following best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to cloud infrastructure, participating in on-call rotations
• Lead disaster recovery scenarios and contribute to improvements
• Implement FinOps practices and strategies
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Finland, California, and New Jersey

What do you expect from me?

We seek an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with strong technical skills and high standards. Key qualifications include:

• Expertise in Azure Cloud
• Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts: networking (VNET, VPN, DNS), storage, virtualization, computing resources
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and package managers (Helm Charts)
• Knowledge of runtime environments and application hosting frameworks
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps (Pipeline as code)
• Experience with Azure Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Grafana, Prometheus)
• Experience with incident resolution tools (ServiceNow, PagerDuty, OpsGenie)

This is an international role with English as the working language.
