Mapbox is seeking a skilled C++ Developer to join the Navigation Native team, contributing to a high-performance engine used across iOS, Android, and embedded platforms. You will tackle challenges in map-matching, routing, and resource management while delivering robust cross-platform software.

You will work with AI-enhanced workflows, emphasizing code quality, performance, and reliability in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of C++17 (or later) experience.
• Strong memory management and portable code.
• Experience with graph-based data structures.
• Cross-platform development: Linux, mobile, or embedded.
• Strong English communication to explain trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a unified C++17 library across iOS, Android, and embedded hardware.
• Improve map-matching and dead-reckoning with real-world data from millions of vehicles.
• Implement route-following features and high-frequency progress reporting.
• Work on road object matching and live traffic incidents for predictive insights.
• Design caching and manage resources like junction views and signposts.
• Leverage AI tools to boost efficiency and code quality.
