Job summary

Scandit Tampere is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build and operate the backend powering ShelfView's ML‑driven store monitoring. You will design scalable distributed systems, choose workflow orchestration components, and ensure secure multi‑tenant access for enterprise customers.

You will work with Python, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms while improving observability, performance, and reliability. Join a hybrid team with flexible working options and a strong equity program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer shipping software in the cloud.
• Hands-on experience with identity/auth systems and multi-tenant architectures.
• Comfortable with observability tooling and debugging production issues.
• Fluent in Python with experience in distributed systems and modern cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Bring ShelfView backend to the next level with load testing and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with AI/ML researchers to productionize models and pipelines.
• Extend multi-tenant platform for new customers and regions.
• Improve observability and debugging capabilities across services.
• Design and evolve service APIs as the platform grows.
• Mentor engineers and help set technical direction.
