Please apply via the Bolt Works registration form: https://app.bolt.works/register-form?advertId=1660651&locale=en

What we’re looking for
  • Positions across Finnish Lapland with a preference to match applicants’ preferences.
  • Roles include chef, waiter, housekeeper, receptionist, guide, shift/team leader, head chef, host, property maintenance worker, and bus driver; emphasis on chefs and waiters. Experience or interest in these roles is welcome.
  • Flexibility during the busy winter season.
  • Respect for colleagues and customers and adherence to company rules.
  • Initiative; ask when you don’t know something—support is available.
  • Good spoken English skills.
Employment details
  • Duration of employment: Assignments usually start in November or December and end in March. Some work through December only; others through April.
  • Location: Throughout Lapland, especially near ski resorts. Cities/areas include Levi, Ranua, Rovaniemi, Ruka, Ylläs, Saariselkä, Utsjoki, Kemi, and other villages near ski resorts.
  • Working hours: Typical contracts offer 90–112.5 hours per 3-week period (about 30–37.5 hours per week on average).
  • Salary: Usually 11–19 EUR/hour depending on role and experience, plus extras such as Sunday and public holiday pay, and evening/night shift allowances, per collective labor agreements.
  • Accommodation: Generally provided by the company. Options include single rooms with shared spaces or shared apartments; some may offer a private apartment. Rent typically 200–500 EUR.
  • Environment: Peak demand around Christmas and February school holidays. Temperatures range from about 5°C to -30°C, with wind. Commuting may involve walking in cold conditions.
  • Bringing a friend/partner: We’ll try to arrange jobs in the same company/town and shared accommodation where possible.
Residency and work permits
  • Are you an EU citizen? EU citizens do not need work permits. You will need to visit the tax office to obtain a Finnish social security number and tax card.
  • Are you a non-EU citizen? You can apply for a residence permit when you have a job contract. A work permit/residence permit costs 100–400 EUR. The application process includes assistance with steps such as a visit to the Finnish embassy and can take 1–3 months.
What we’re looking for in you
  • Depending on the role, previous experience is beneficial and often expected; some roles do not require prior experience.
  • Flexibility during the busy winter season.
  • Respect for colleagues and customers and adherence to company rules.
  • Initiative to learn and ask for help when needed.
  • Good spoken English skills.
What you can expect from us
  • Occupational health care service access to a doctor when needed.
  • Opportunity to experience magical Finnish Lapland as part of work; this could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
  • Full support during employment, including help in understanding Finnish bureaucracy and assistance on work-related matters.
  • Salary based on collective labor agreements.
  • Potential for a free one-week intensive Finnish tourism course including hygiene certification (hygiene passport). Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41pIWx7LuqM
