Locations and duration

Location: Lapland, including Levi, Ranua, Rovaniemi, Ruka, Ylläs, Saariselkä, Utsjoki, Kemi, and other nearby areas. Assignments typically start in November or December and end in March. Some employees work only for the busiest December period, while others start as early as October and continue through April.

Roles and responsibilities

We hire for a variety of waiter roles and chef roles, including à la carte, buffet, pizza, burger, assistant, head, and shift lead positions (also known internationally as chef de partie, sous chef, commis). If you have experience in these roles, we would love to hear from you. Specific duties will depend on the assigned role and location.

Working hours and salary

Contract hours typically range around 90 to 112.5 hours per 3-week period, averaging about 30–37.5 hours per week. Salary usually ranges from 11 to 20 EUR per hour, depending on role and experience, with extras such as double pay on Sundays and public holidays and evening/night shift premiums, in accordance with collective labor agreements.

Accommodation and environment

Accommodation is generally provided by the company, with options including single rooms with shared spaces or shared apartments. In some locations, there are opportunities for private apartments. Rent ranges from 200 to 500 EUR, depending on the type of accommodation and location. Winter conditions in Lapland are cold, with temperatures typically from 5°C to -30°C and wind. Commuting to work may involve walking in the cold.

Family/partners and support

We will try to arrange job offers in the same company or town for you and your friend/partner, including shared accommodation when possible.

Citizenship and permits

EU citizens do not need work permits. You will need to visit the tax office to obtain a Finnish social security number and tax card. Non-EU citizens can apply for a residence permit when you have a job contract. A work permit/residence permit costs 100–400 EUR, and the process, including a visit to a Finnish embassy, can take 1–3 months. We provide assistance with the application process and related matters.
