Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a senior Variant Configuration Transformation Lead to drive the global migration from LO-VC to S/4HANA AVC and define next‑generation configuration models. You will lead SAP CPQ related changes and govern standards across sales, engineering, manufacturing and aftermarkets.

The role is hands-on and architecture‑level with global impact, requiring senior expertise in SAP VC, AVC and CPQ, fluent English, and the ability to mentor teams worldwide from Finland-based locations.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC and AVC) and SAP CPQ.
• Experience migrating configuration models from SAP ECC LO-VC to S/4HANA AVC.
• Strong understanding of CTO and ETO product configuration scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SAP CPQ implementation related changes to Variant Configuration models.
• Lead the migration and redesign of SAP LO-VC models to S/4HANA AVC, including migration methodology, scoping, validation, and end-to-end testing.
• Design and implement next-generation configuration models leveraging AVC capabilities.
• Ensure seamless integration of configuration models with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Commerce, Teamcenter PLM.
• Establish global configuration modeling standards, governance, and best practices.
• Train, coach, and mentor configuration modelers in best-practice modeling approaches.

About The Role

Sulzer is transforming its global product configuration system landscape and is looking for Variant Configuration Transformation Lead to drive this change to global Variant Configuration models. In this senior expert role, you will lead the SAP CPQ implementation related changes to models, own the transition from classic SAP Variant Configuration (LO VC) to S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC), and define the next generation of configuration models, standards, and best practices. The position can be based at any of Sulzer's locations in Finland. This is a hands on transformation and architecture role with global impact across sales, engineering, manufacturing, and aftermarkets.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the SAP CPQ implementation related changes to Variant Configuration models
• Lead the migration and redesign of SAP LO‑VC models to S/4HANA AVC, including migration methodology, scoping, validation, and end‑to‑end testing
• Design and implement next‑generation configuration models leveraging advanced AVC capabilities
• Ensure seamless integration of configuration models with: SAP S/4HANA, SAP Commerce, Teamcenter PLM
• Establish global configuration modeling standards, governance, and best practices
• Train, coach, and mentor configuration modelers in best‑practice modeling approaches

What You Bring

• Deep, hands‑on experience with SAP Variant Configuration (LO‑VC and AVC) and SAP CPQ
• Experience migrating and redesigning configuration models from SAP ECC LO-VC to S/4HANA AVC
• Strong understanding of CTO and ETO product configuration scenarios
• Experience designing global configuration models in global, cross‑functional environments
• Experience with Teamcenter Product Configurator, modular product structures, and multi‑BOM scenarios is a strong advantage
• Ability to work at architecture and transformation level, while remaining hands‑on
• Fluent English communication skills

Important Note

This role is intended for senior SAP configuration experts and architects. It is not a general SAP consultant or junior configuration modeling position.

The salary for this position ranges from 6.200 EUR to 7.000 EUR per month. The final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications. The salary range reflects the planned level of responsibility associated with the role.
