Robot Service Engineer, Espoo, Finland

Overview

For the extension of our Robot Service department in the Nordic region based in Espoo, Finland we are looking to recruit one. Reporting to Omron Robotics Service Engineering team.

As Robot Service Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers primarily based on After Sales Support for Finland but also the Nordic region and on a time-to-time basis in the rest of EMEA. We are looking for a candidate who is proactive and has long and wide experience in industrial automation with knowledge in robotics. Many of our solutions are integrated with our Sysmac control system platform, with experience of PLC and Motion as a big advantage for this service position. Experience in high-level programming languages like C++, Python would be advantageous.

You must be able to communicate customers\' wishes and needs and suggest optimal overall solutions with our integrated automation solutions. You should be a real team player and can also work on your own. Success is your driving force and you are results-oriented and solution-oriented, flexible and positive. A challenge provides an opportunity for success. The main task will be repairing, and servicing fixed robotic systems, collaborative robotics and Mobile (AMR).

Duties and responsibilities
  • Planning and executing onsite services for customers and system vendors
  • Telephone support for customers in the above-mentioned area
  • Planning and executing repairs at our current installed customer base
  • Planning, organizing and executing seminars/trainings at customer site and occasionally at our training center
  • Preparing, continuing and extending service documentation
  • Possibly accruing telephone support and onsite services at the weekend
  • Preparing information for quotations about possible service performances for local Omron Offices
  • Entering the service projects in the CRM system
  • Consulting customers concerning a service strategy
  • Reporting quality defects and problems (quality control, engineering)
  • Updating cases in the CRM system and corresponding database maintenance of products installed at the customer
  • Supporting other locations in Europe but primary Finland and Nordics. We are a European team and support other ORSE members when shortages arise, like ORSE Central, or ORSE South.
  • Repairing customers robot systems both mechanically and electrically
  • Travel to customers and possibly means time away from home, both abroad and in your home country
Education, skills and experience
  • Completed apprenticeship in mechanical, electronics and electrical
  • Further education as technician or Bachelor of Engineering
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of robotic hardware mechanics and electronics
  • Know how in automation (PLC, Vision)
  • Know how in programming of robotic systems. Preferably Omron Adept Programming Language V+ or high-level programming language
  • Hands on experience both mechanical and electrical
  • English (spoken and written, it is the main language)
  • Full Driving license according to local driving legislation is essential
  • Passport is an essential part for the ideal candidate
