Job summary

Pohjantähti Keskinäinen Vakuutusyhtiö is seeking a Risk Manager to lead underwriting efforts for corporate clients, design pricing, and monitor profitability across insurance solutions. The role requires independent planning, collaboration with sales, risk, and IT teams, and involves some travel.

A strong construction background and corporate risk expertise are valued. Excellent Finnish and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of risk management and corporate risks.
• Experience in similar roles.
• Relevant technical education (AMK/YAMK or equivalent).
• Construction industry know-how is an asset; corporate insurance or corporate risk management expertise is beneficial.
• Strong construction background acceptable if not previously in insurance.
• Fluency in Finnish and English; good IT skills and willingness to use digital tools and systems.

Job description

The Risk Manager is a key role in our corporate insurance risk management, responsible for underwriting processes and ensuring profitability of insurance solutions for our corporate clients.

Responsibilities

Designing and pricing demanding insurance solutions in collaboration with sales, monitoring and improving profitability, drafting site‑specific risk analyses for corporate clients, developing insurance and liability selection guidelines, and training the sales team.

The position requires you to plan and prioritize your work independently.

We value knowledge of risk management and corporate risks, experience in similar roles and relevant technical education (e.g., AMK/YAMK or equivalent). Construction industry know‑how is an asset, and special expertise in corporate insurance or corporate risk management is considered beneficial. You may join with a strong construction background even if you have not previously worked in the insurance field.

You will analyze corporate client profitability and make independent decisions based on that analysis. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, fluency in Finnish and English, and good IT skills and willingness to use digital tools and systems are required.

Location and Work Arrangement

The workplace may be Hämeenlinna, Tampere or the Helsinki metropolitan area, with office facilities available.We will meet at Pohjantähti’s headquarters in Hämeenlinna a few times a month.

The role requires some travel.
