Job summary

Nordic Semi in Turku, Finland seeks an RF and EMI Simulation Expert to lead advanced EM simulations for IC, package and PCB designs, shaping world-class wireless performance.

Collaborate with IC designers and system engineers, develop EM/EMI methodologies, document results, support testing, and drive standards and tool development across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics or related field.
• 5+ years in RF/microwave engineering, EM simulations or EMI/EMC analysis.
• Expertise with EM simulation software and familiarity with SPICE-based tools.
• Deep knowledge of chip/PCB PDNs, grounding, decoupling and EMI concepts.
• Understanding EMI/EMC theory, design, and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electromagnetic simulations at IC and PCB levels using industry tools.
• Assess and optimize chip- and package-level PDNs for noise, integrity and EMI.
• Simulate EMI radiation and ensure designs meet international standards.
• Collaborate with IC designers, PCB engineers and system architects for EM guidance.
• Propose and validate mitigation solutions for EMI/EMC at layout and circuit levels.
• Document results, analysis, and design recommendations for improvement.
• Drive EM simulation method development, EMI/EMC standards, and EDA tools.
• Support EMI/EMC testing and correlate measurements with simulations.

As our RF and EMI Simulation Expert, you will work at the forefront of semiconductor innovation, using advanced electromagnetic simulation techniques to solve complex challenges and ensure world-class product performance.

Collaborating with leading experts across IC, package, PCB, and system design, you will influence critical design decisions, drive cutting-edge EM/EMI methodologies, and help deliver robust, high-performance solutions used in millions of connected devices worldwide. Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced electromagnetic (EM) simulations at both integrated circuit (chip) and printed circuit board (PCB) levels using industry-standard tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Cadence Sigrity, CST Studio Suite, Keysight RFPro).

• Assess and optimize chip- and package-level power distribution networks (PDNs) for noise, integrity, and EMI compliance.

• Simulate and analyze EMI radiation to ensure designs follow international standards

• Collaborate closely with IC designers, PCB layout engineers, and system architects to provide EM/EMI guidance throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Propose and validate effective mitigation solutions for EMI/EMC issues at both layout and circuit design levels.

• Prepare and document simulation results, analysis reports, and recommendations for design improvements.

• Drive development of EM simulation methods, EMI/EMC standards, and relevant EDA tools.

• Support laboratory EMI/EMC testing and debug activities as needed, correlating measurements with simulations.

Key Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience in RF/microwave engineering, EM simulations, or EMI/EMC analysis.

• Expertise with EM simulation software (e.g., Ansys HFSS, CST, Cadence Sigrity), and familiarity with SPICE-based simulation tools.

• Deep knowledge of chip and PCB power distribution networks, grounding, decoupling, and relevant design practices.

• Solid understanding of EMI/EMC theory, design, and compliance processes.
