Job summary

UNU-WIDER in Helsinki is seeking two outstanding individuals to support the 2019–23 research programme as well as the training and communication activities of the Institute. The appointees will contribute to research design, data analysis, and policy-relevant outputs in an international setting.

Responsibilities include project management, organizing events, assisting in teaching and supervision of junior researchers, and producing reports and presentations for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics, Development Economics, Political Science, or related social science.
• Excellent communications and drafting skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Institute’s research programme and publication outputs.
• Manage research projects with internal and external teams.
• Organize and participate in local and international events and outreach.
• Assist in teaching, training and supervision within capacity-building activities.
• Prepare research and project management reports and presentations.
