Job summary

UNU-WIDER in Helsinki seeks two outstanding Research Associates to support the 2019-23 research programme and the capacity-building and communications activities of the Institute. The appointment is a full-time PSA contract with renewal potential.

Requirements include a PhD in Economics or related discipline, strong research and drafting skills in English, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics or related discipline.
• Progressively responsible postgraduate work experience.
• Excellent drafting skills and fluency in English. Knowledge of other official UN languages would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute effectively to the UNU-WIDER research programme and communications for target audiences.
• Carry out teaching, training and supervision within the capacity-building programme.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Director.
