Job summary

The University of Helsinki's Institute of Biotechnology (HiLIFE) invites applications for a 3-year Doctoral Researcher position in regeneration and ageing biology under the supervision of Dr. Nalle Pentinmikko.

The work will be carried out at the Institute of Biotechnology, HiLIFE, and the successful candidate will enroll in a doctoral program at the University of Helsinki, starting January 2027 or as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Prior laboratory work experience is required.
• Experience with research animals and organotypic cultures is advantageous.
• Strong motivation and ability to work independently in an international environment.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Work on regeneration and ageing biology projects in a 3-year PhD program.
• Discuss results in group meetings and present at conferences.
• Prepare funding applications and write manuscripts.
• Contribute to facility management of the group.
• Teach up to 5% of time.
