Job summary

The University of Helsinki invites applications for a 3-year Doctoral Researcher position in regeneration and ageing biology within the Pentinmikko group at the Institute of Biotechnology, HiLIFE. The successful candidate will enrol in a doctoral program and start in January 2027 or when a suitable candidate is found.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. degree or equivalent in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field.
• Prior laboratory experience required; experience with animals and organotypic cultures advantageous.
• Strong motivation to learn, contribute ideas and work independently in an international setting.
• Good written and oral English; eligibility for doctoral studies at the University of Helsinki.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular group meetings and present findings at conferences.
• Prepare funding applications for travel grants and assist in manuscript writing.
• Lead writing of manuscripts for publication in international journals.
• Contribute to shared facilities management within the research group.
• Five percent of time devoted to teaching and supervision of undergraduates.
