Job summary

Evertz Microsystems Limited in Markham, Ontario is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for broadcast/IP routing products, with a primary focus on Linux-based platforms.

You will collaborate with internal groups to define interfaces, perform board-level integration, and develop real-time software components, leveraging C/C++, Bash, and Git in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with embedded Linux, IPC, multithreading, and memory management.
• 2–5 years of hands-on embedded software experience.
• Fluent Linux CLI; Bash scripting.
• Git/SVN experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for Evertz products, focusing on Linux-based platforms.
• Collaborate to define hardware/software interfaces, review schematics, and perform board-level integration and troubleshooting.
• Develop real-time software components with RTOS concepts alongside embedded Linux where timing-critical behavior is required.
