Job summary

Stora Enso is seeking an experienced R&D Specialist to lead and execute projects in mechanical and semi-chemical pulps, translating lab findings into pilot and mill-scale applications within our Wood and Pulp technology team.

The role requires strong scientific background, minimum 5 years of relevant experience, fluent English, and collaboration with mills, suppliers and research institutes. Hybrid work in Helsinki with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in pulp and paper technology or chemical engineering.
• Deep understanding of semi-chemical and mechanical pulps and their impact on fibre properties.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in R&D.
• Strong project management skills are desirable.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute R&D projects in the field of semi-chemical and mechanical pulps, from lab to mill scale.
• Develop new ideas, methods, and products in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with mills, suppliers, universities and research institutes.
• Travel as needed and work within a hybrid model from Finland.
