Job summary

Stora Enso is seeking an experienced R&D Specialist to lead and execute projects in mechanical and semi-chemical pulps and optimize their use in traditional and novel end-applications. The role sits in the Wood and Pulp technology team within Group Innovation and R&D, Finland-based with hybrid working.

You will plan, lead and collaborate with mills, suppliers, universities, and research institutes, traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong scientific and technical background with structured analytical thinking.
• Hands-on can-do attitude, problem solving ability, and results-driven approach.
• Ability to work independently as well as in an international and interdisciplinary team.
• Innovative and open mindset with good team-working skills.
• Master's degree in pulp and paper technology or chemical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant R&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, execute and support R&D projects in semi-chemical or mechanical pulps.
• Develop new ideas, methods, and products from laboratory to mill scale.
• Collaborate with mills, suppliers, universities and research institutes.
• Hybrid working setup in Finland with travel as needed.
