Job summary

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in Espoo seeks a Quality Process Specialist to strengthen governance of semiconductor wafer fabrication in Micronova FAB. You will shape quality systems and environmental metrics, collaborate with maintenance, process engineering and data experts, and ensure control of procedures.

The role requires hands-on implementation, strong problem-solving skills and clear communication in English; Finnish language is an asset.

Qualifications

• University or applied sciences degree in a technical field.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards and QA fundamentals.
• Background in semiconductor processing and related environments.
• Experience with problem solving methods and root-cause analysis.

We are now looking for a Quality Process Specialist to join our Micronova FAB organization in Espoo!

About Fab:

The semiconductor wafer fab located in Micronova facilitates the whole chain of research, development and small-volume production. The total area of the cleanroom is 2 600 m2, and there is an installed equipment base of 200 processing and measurement tools, enabling fabrication of devices for silicon photonics, radio, MEMS, quantum and hyperspectral applications. Micronova is a vibrant ecosystem, where more than twenty companies have access to the fab for the fabrication of

their own products, and Aalto University operates independently in part of the facility. The fab operates at 200 mm wafer size and its operations are ISO9001 certified. In addition to the existing toolbase, numerous investments into new equipment are currently in progress to enhance the capabilities. New business models, growing demands and VTT’s involvement in EU Chips JU Pilot Line activities drive a change in operational model. The fab is in a transformation process towards more repeated process offering and advanced process control and data management.

As a Quality Process Specialist, you will:

• Own the quality processes and governance in the Micronova fab
• Maintaining and continuously developing the Quality Handbook for cleanroom operations, including document and change management.
• Define environmental targets, monitor key performance indicators, and prepare the annual environmental report
• Own the training set for quality system
• Facilitate and support quality related audits to the fab
• Audit material vendors
• Leading the quality and environmental training for VTT personnel using the cleanroom
• Facilitate continuous improvement activities
• Own, report and develop quality and environmental data, metrics and KPIs

You will work closely within the fab core operations unit, which consists of highly qualified Maintenance and Process Engineering and data experts, cleanroom operators, and manufacturing process quality experts. Further key stakeholders include research teams and external companies that utilise the Micronova cleanrooms.

Who we are looking for:

• You have a relevant university or university of applied sciences degree in a technical, technological, scientific, or other related field
• Good knowledge and experience of quality standards
• Background and work experience in semiconductor processing
• Knowledge and experience in problem solving methods
• Team working skills, good communication capabilities
• Hands-on attitude and positive drive to implement new processes
• Fluent spoken and writing in English is mandatory, fluent Finnish is seen as an asset
