Quality Engineer: Drive Supplier & Process Excellence

Job summary

Hiab is seeking a Quality Engineer to safeguard product quality across factory functions in Raisio, Finland. You will act as the voice of the customer, validating work practices and partnering with suppliers to drive continuous quality improvements.

You will monitor incoming goods, promote 5S, track deviations, and lead quality initiatives across value streams, reporting on NCRs and implementing SPC-driven process optimizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of quality engineering experience in mechanical manufacturing and assembly.
• Proficiency with core quality tools and methodologies (ERP, 8D, A3, Kaizen, SPC, SIPOC, Pareto, DMAIC).
• Fluency in English and Finnish; occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of incoming goods and packaging.
• Identify safety risks and promote adherence to 5S standards.
• Track, report, and manage quality deviations related to suppliers.
• Analyze internal production defects and rework trends.
• Communicate quality insights and non-conformances to stakeholders.
• Review and process invoices for in-house technical claims.
• Lead quality initiatives as the quality representative for value streams.
• Generate NCRs for product, process, or drawing deviations.
• Apply SPC tools to monitor and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions (8D, A3).
• Develop and execute structured product audit plans incorporating claims and feedback.
• Conduct internal and external quality audits and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Compile quality documentation (PPAP, QGAR).
• Maintain daily SQDIP boards with key metrics.
• Coordinate and oversee the incoming inspection workflow.
