Job description

We are now looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join the ValueSource team to work at our customer in the project manufacturing industry in Espoo.

In this position, you will:

  • act as Project Quality Control Engineer on selected projects, ensuring the quality assurance and quality control of the projects
  • plan, organize, and manage quality inspections
  • perform project inspections at suppliers
  • lead and organize third-party activities for quality inspections at suppliers
  • coordinate the customer inspections
  • review and approve supplier's inspection and test plan (ITP) and QA/QC documents
  • check the supplier's manufacturing plan
  • follow up on the manufacturing schedule and report progress
  • follow up on the quality objectives fulfillment
  • perform specified trainings on customer's quality requirements for internal project resources and external quality inspectors
  • assist projects in creating project-specific quality requirements for suppliers
  • assist Quality/Product Managers in creating product-specific quality requirements for suppliers
  • assist on product audits for equipment to ensure scope and quality are according to standards and requirements per the project or product
  • assist SQE/SQM on audits of existing suppliers and proposed suppliers to evaluate process capabilities (i.e., welding, painting)
  • claim handling in the own project area

To succeed, you will need:

  • a Bachelor's or Master's degree in material or mechanical engineering or an equivalent education
  • earlier work experience in quality assurance and control in a technical industry environment
  • profound knowledge of quality processes and practices
  • welding documentation (WPS, WPQR, WPQ), NDT-procedures, and coating procedures knowledge
  • IWS, IWT, IWE, IWI, CWI, Frosio Level III, Nace level II/III education and certification (you should have at least one of these)
  • knowledge of European international, ASME, and AWS standards
  • investigative capability into products and processes
  • strong ability and skills in problem-solving and in performing root cause analysis
  • good planning and organizing skills
  • excellent team working skills
  • goal- and success-oriented thinking and acting, driving for results
  • fluent spoken and written English skills (this will be your daily working language), other language skills would be an asset
  • knowledge of 5D/8D reporting would be an asset

This position requires occasional domestic and international traveling (might be up to 30% of working time occasionally).
