Job description

Simucube is a game-changer in the world of sim racing and simulators. At the heart of Hervanta, Tampere, our skilled and warm-hearted team of 60 professionals creates products that are known for their top performance and high quality. With exciting projects underway and more about to launch, we are now looking for a new colleague to join our 3-person R&D management team. As the Project Manager you are part of R&D operational management. The team consists of Program Manager, Head of R&D, and People lead. Our R&D develops technologies and new Simucube products, such as steering wheels, wheelbases, pedals, and other sim racing accessories.

Are you our new Project Manager ready to take on the challenge?

The role in a nutshell:

  • This is a full-time, permanent role.
  • We are located in Hervanta, Tampere. We offer overall flexible working conditions to our personnel, yet in this role we appreciate regular presence at the office.
  • Ideally, the new team member joins us after the summer holidays in early autumn.
  • The salary range is €4,600–€5,200/month.
  • This recruitment process is anonymous(read more).

High quality products from idea to mass production

As the Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in turning innovative ideas into production-ready products – not just supervising timelines but truly enabling the project team’s success from concept to manufacturing. While you won’t be working alone, you will have plenty of ownership in how projects are run. You’ll collaborate with a broad group of top-tier specialists in mechanics, electronics, software, and supply chain management – adapting your approach to different personalities and ensuring everyone has what they need to deliver. We are working on parallel development projects, and your work will focus on leading new product initiatives – including e.g. pedals and steering wheels – while supporting ongoing efforts where needed. Our teams are driven by technical excellence and curiosity, so strong communication and prioritization skills are key. You'll help the team balance technical ambition with timelines, guide decision-making, and promote good practices like documentation and structured progress.

Your team

You will be part of our R&D operational management team, which ensures smooth operation and growth by overseeing project initiation, resource allocation, and process development, while also supporting developers, fostering innovation, managing risks, and promoting team well-being. Your close colleagues in the team will be

Thomas, Program Manager. Thomas drives cross-functional coordination from project kick-off to production, while supporting the team by overseeing the project portfolio, resources, and dependencies. Thomas is also the top mileage cyclist in the company.

Vesa, Head of R&D. Vesa is responsible for leading new technology development and managing our IPR portfolio. Vesa has a long history of working with high-end consumer electronics.

Susanna, R&D People Lead. Susanna supports the R&D team by overseeing well-being, fostering a supportive work environment, and guiding both professional and personal development. Susanna joined Simucube after writing her Master’s thesis about our 4-day work week trial.

What makes you thrive in our team

  • Proven experience managing new product development projects that lead to manufacturing ready hardware or electronics-based products.
  • Solid understanding of the entire development lifecycle – from idea and prototyping to piloting and ramp-up into mass production.
  • Ability to navigate and align multidisciplinary development efforts across mechanics, electronics, software, and subcontracted elements.
  • A structured, proactive way of working with excellent prioritization and scheduling skills – you’re not afraid to say when something is “good enough” and guide others to focus on the right things.
  • Hands-on leadership style and interest in improving how projects are run – documentation, tools, and shared practices matter to you.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – you know how to work with a diverse mix of experts, ask the right questions, and help others succeed.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a changing environment – as we grow, you’ll help shape our ways of working.
  • Familiarity with product development timelines and the patience and coordination needed to bring high-quality devices to market.

Also, we’d be excited if you brought some of the following to the table:

  • Experience working in demanding industries with complex or high-performance hardware.
  • Background in mechanical, electronics, or software engineering – or a strong understanding of all three.
  • Exposure to subcontractor collaboration, especially in mechanical design or manufacturing.
  • Experience running multiple projects in parallel and using tools like Monday.com or Jira.

In return, we offer you

  • People-first culture: Our employees are at the heart of everything we do. We offer a range of well-being benefits, including a paid 30-minute mid-day stroll daily, bicycle benefit, €400/year well-being allowance (usable for sports, culture, or wellness), an extensive occupational healthcare plan, and access to high-quality sports equipment for borrowing.
  • Flexibility and freedom: We support a healthy work–life balance through flexible working hours and hybrid work options. You will also have access to quality tools and software, and yes, you’re welcome to use our equipment (including 3D printers) for your own hobby or DIY projects.
  • Continuous learning: We believe in supporting your growth. You can choose training or education programs we’ll happily cover, and we provide access to professional literature of your choice. We want to empower every team member to keep developing their skills.

Throughout the recruitment and onboarding process, we’ll take time to understand your interests and strengths – together we’ll shape a role in the project that truly excites you.
