About the Role

As Project Manager, you will lead Griffdon Engineering’s electrical scope within a major data centre project in Finland.

You will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the high technical and quality standards expected in data centre environments. The position requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and technical expertise to manage on-site operations, coordinate resources, and maintain clear communication with both clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Planning

  • Plan, manage, and oversee all electrical containment and LV cabling installation activities.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and progress reporting.
  • Coordinate closely with main contractors, client representatives, and other subcontractors.
  • Ensure all installation works are in line with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong health and safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with local Finnish regulations and Griffdon’s HSE policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant electrical standards and client data centre requirements.

Quality Assurance & Technical Control

  • Oversee quality control and testing procedures for containment and LV cable installations.
  • Manage inspection requests, as-built documentation, and sign-off processes.
  • Work with the QA/QC team to ensure full compliance with client specifications and industry best practices.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Review and approve variations, progress claims, and subcontractor payments.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring profitability and contract compliance.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead on-site teams including supervisors, electricians, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
  • Support workforce planning, training, and performance management for the project team.

Procurement & Logistics

  • Coordinate procurement of electrical materials and components in line with project schedules.
  • Liaise with logistics partners for material delivery to the site
  • Manage supplier performance to ensure timely and quality supply.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as Griffdon Engineering’s main representative on site.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and internal management.
  • Manage client expectations, addressing technical or scheduling concerns professionally.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily site reports, progress trackers, and risk registers.
  • Provide weekly and monthly progress and financial reports to head office.
  • Support commissioning and handover documentation processes.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Proven experience managing large-scale electrical installation projects, ideally in data centres or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical containment systems and LV cabling installation methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical drawings, cable schedules, and QA/QC processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage site teams and coordinate multiple subcontractors.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Willingness to work and be based in Finland for the duration of the project.

Desirable

  • Previous international or data centre project experience.
  • HND/Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (IET, CIOB, etc.).
  • Familiarity with EU and Finnish safety regulations and working practices.
