Job summary

Fortum is seeking a Project Engineer/Project Manager to join the investment project team for a planned battery materials recycling facility in Harjavalta, Finland. The role includes design, procurement, and delivery responsibilities, with travel domestically and internationally as required.

Primary location is Harjavalta; Espoo office work is possible. The fixed-term role ends on 31 May 2027, offering hybrid work and opportunities to collaborate with international suppliers.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Hydrometallurgy, or another relevant technical field.
• Experience in process design and development within hydrometallurgical operations or the chemical process industry.
• The ability to evaluate process solutions and participate in the technical specification and procurement of process equipment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an international project environment.
• Fluency in Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, procurement, and implementation of a hydrometallurgical processing facility.
• Support the investment project team for the Harjavalta facility with travel as required and coordination with international suppliers.
• Engage in EPC/EPcm project activities and coordinate with equipment suppliers and contractors.
