Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Project Engineer to join our global valves and automation team, delivering technical solutions for industrial projects across Europe.

You will clarify requirements, manage changes, inspect sites, read drawings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Fluent Finnish and English are required; 3+ years in a project environment and a technical degree are expected.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical, Automation, or related technical field.
• 3+ years in a project environment with industrial equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and documentation.
• Knowledge of document management systems; PDM/ERP is an advantage.
• Fluent Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

• Clarify technical requirements for valve delivery projects with EPC customers and project managers.
• Manage technical change requests, document approvals and final project documentation.
• Host customer inspections and site visits as a technical expert.
• Collaborate with project managers, factory, quality, design, R&D, documentation and inspection teams.

Your responsibilities

• Clarify technical requirements for industrial valve delivery projects together with our EPC customers and project managers.
• Manage technical change requests, document approvals and final project documentation.
• Host customer inspections and site visits and act as a technical expert throughout project execution.
• Collaborate with project managers, factory personnel, quality, design, R&D, documentation and inspection teams.
• Coordinate information across stakeholders and help ensure projects are delivered according to customer specifications.

Expectations for you

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Process Automation or another relevant technical field.
• 3+ years of experience experience working in a project environment and understanding of industrial equipment and processes.
• Ability to read technical drawings, machining drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of document management systems; PDM and ERP are considered an advantage.
• Fluent Finnish and English skills.
• Occasional travel within Europe may be required.
