Åbo Akademi University invites applications for a fixed-term position as Project Coordinator for the RES-AGE project from 1 December 2026 to 30 September 2029 (or starting date as agreed). The fixed-term position is full-time, and the location of work is within the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences in Vaasa or Turku.
RES-AGE is an interdisciplinary research project focusing on older adults' wellbeing from different perspectives. During its initial three years it will examine social, health-related, psychological, and biological factors that promote resilience, with a particular focus on loneliness, stress, and health. RES-AGE is funded by the Strategic Research Council. The project is coordinated by Åbo Akademi University together with consortium partners that are: Tampere University, the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Jyväskylä and The Age Institute.

The tasks of the project coordinator will encompass among others:
We are looking for a collaborative person with good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate holds a Master's degree in a field relevant to the project and has such language proficiency that they would be able to communicate effectively in the working languages of the research group (Finnish, Swedish and English). Good Microsoft Office skills are required, and experience in social media content creation and webpage management is considered a strong advantage.
Previous experience of projects funded by the Strategic Research Council as well as familiarity with the substantive focus of the RES-AGE project will also be considered an asset.
In addition to the formal qualifications, we will consider the personal qualities that are essential for success in this role during the recruitment process.
The project coordinator's salary is based on level 8 of the job demand level for expert and support staff. In addition, an individual salary component based on personal work performance is added to the salary. Please see salary tables.
The weekly working hours for full-time employees are 36 hours and 15 minutes.
A trial period applies to the position.
