Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Program Manager to lead global NPI, lifecycle, and strategic programs within the PCS PMO. You will drive cross-functional execution from concept through development, verification, regulatory readiness, and launch readiness across engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing.

You will strengthen PMO practices, governance, and HeartBeat-driven execution to improve predictability, transparency, and continuous improvement across programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Healthcare Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programs, preferably in medical devices or regulated product development.
  • Strong program management skills including integrated planning, risk management, and executive communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global, matrixed teams without direct authority.
  • Experience with product development lifecycles and regulatory and quality dependencies.
  • Clear, concise communication and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional programs across full product development lifecycle, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, cost, quality, regulatory, and business objectives.

Job Description Summary

The Program Manager will lead global New Product Introduction (NPI), lifecycle, and strategic business programs within the Patient Care Solutions (PCS) Program Management Office (PMO). This role is accountable for driving cross-functional program execution from concept through development, verification, regulatory readiness, launch preparation, and manufacturing readiness.

The Program Manager will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Service, Commercial, and other functions to deliver program outcomes aligned with customer needs, business priorities, quality expectations, schedule commitments, and financial targets.

This role will also help strengthen PMO standard work, operating rhythms, governance, KPI visibility, and adoption of the HeartBeat proprietary business system to improve execution predictability, transparency, and continuous improvement across programs.

About the Role

This is a high-impact program leadership role within PCS PMO. The Program Manager will play a key role in delivering critical healthcare technology programs while also helping mature PMO practices, strengthen execution rigor, and embed HeartBeat business system behaviors into daily program management. The role is well suited for a collaborative, structured, and business-oriented program leader who can operate across technical, operational, regulatory, and commercial domains while driving measurable outcomes for customers, patients, and the business

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex cross-functional programs across the full product development lifecycle, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, cost, quality, regulatory, and business objectives.
  • Own integrated program planning, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, resources, budget assumptions, and decision points.
  • Drive program operating rhythm through effective core team meetings, action management, escalation, stakeholder communication, and leadership reviews.
  • Apply PMO standard work, governance, and best practices to ensure consistent program execution and transparent decision-making.
  • Use HeartBeat business system principles to drive disciplined execution, problem solving, continuous improvement, and daily management practices.
  • Establish and maintain program KPIs, dashboards, risk registers, issue logs, action trackers, and milestone readiness criteria.
  • Proactively identify program risks, trade-offs, and constraints; lead cross-functional problem solving and escalation to enable timely decisions.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with applicable medical device design controls, quality system requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Service teams to ensure production readiness, supply chain readiness, service readiness, and launch execution.
  • Facilitate business case alignment, investment tracking, resource planning, and portfolio prioritization discussions as needed.
  • Communicate program status, risks, decisions, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support PMO capability building by contributing to playbooks, templates, lessons learned, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, inclusion, and customer focus across global teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Healthcare Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programs, preferably in medical devices, healthcare technology, regulated product development, or a similar environment.
  • Strong program management skills, including integrated planning, risk management, stakeholder management, decision facilitation, and executive communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global, matrixed teams without direct authority.
  • Experience managing product development or lifecycle programs with technical, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercial dependencies.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and ability to simplify complex situations into clear priorities, actions, and decisions.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with urgency, ownership, and accountability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in a Program Management Office or portfolio/program governance environment.
  • Familiarity with GE HealthCare HeartBeat, Lean, Kaizen, daily management, visual management, or similar business operating systems.
  • Experience with medical device design controls, product development phase gate processes, verification and validation, regulatory submissions, and launch readiness.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent certification.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with program budgets, R&D investment tracking, business cases, and trade-off decisions.
  • Experience building or improving PMO standard work, templates, playbooks, dashboards, and operating mechanisms.
  • Ability to use data, metrics, and digital tools to improve program visibility and decision-making.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, MS Project, Power BI, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project and portfolio management tools.
  • Interest in applying AI-enabled tools to improve program management productivity, communication, risk visibility, and execution discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teams, build trust, and create a psychologically safe environment for transparent issue escalation and problem solving.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to connect program execution to patient, clinician, and business outcomes.
