About your role

We are looking for a Production Engineer for a two-year fixed-term position at Orion's Espoo site to support the maintenance of utility systems. You will be responsible for the maintenance, development, and modifications of production and laboratory utility systems within your designated area, in accordance with set objectives. You will work in collaboration with Orion personnel and external partners.

Your tasks include ensuring the reliability and maintenance of systems, maintaining their safe operational condition, planning maintenance activities, preparing and updating utility system documentation, and supervising and implementing small modification projects. Proactive approach to work and strong problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

The position is a fixed-term assignment about until the end of 2027.

Your key responsibilities

You will be working with clean utilities such as purified water (PW), ethanol, compressed air and nitrogen systems. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of utility systems
  • Organizing responses to troubleshoot situations and reporting deviations
  • Maintaining documentation related to utility systems

Our expectations

We expect you to have a technical education (e.g., in process, mechanical or automation engineering) and experience with clean utilities. The role requires independent work, problem-solving skills, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external networks. You should have a proactive approach and a willingness to learn. You are able to organize and manage your work efficiently, even under pressure, and communicate fluently in both Finnish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Additional Assets: We value experience with utility systems, process automation, and gas systems.

Unit description

Orion\'s Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.

In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management)and Operations Development.

Orion\'s Facility Management is part of the Global Operations organization and is responsible for ensuring that the factory area facilities including production and laboratory operations function smoothly, cost-effectively, and in compliance with pharmaceutical industry requirements. Our team consists of around thirty experts from various technical fields. Facility Management works closely with production and laboratory engineering as well as the project office. This role offers a broad view of the pharmaceutical industry environment and opportunities to develop your expertise across multiple areas. You\'ll also gain an excellent understanding of the entire pharmaceutical production lifecycle—from product development to manufacturing.

You will work as part of the utilities team within Facility Management. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining Orion\'s utility systems across all factory locations.
