Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Finland is seeking a Process Engineer to design fuel systems for LNG, Methanol and Ammonia, from concept to commissioning. The role offers exposure to international projects and close collaboration with engineering, customers and suppliers.

The position primarily located in Finland (Vaasa preferred) but Helsinki, Turku, or even Italy are negotiable. You will work on P&ID design, process equipment selection, and simulations, contributing to safe, efficient marine fuel

Qualifications

• MSc in Chemical and Process Engineering or Energy Technology.
• Experience with AutoCAD is advantageous.
• Experience with process simulation software (AspenTech, MATLAB, AFT Fathom).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Job description

Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey to decarbonize the maritime industry?
We are looking for a Process Engineer willing to mix creativity and engineering skills to develop design of fuel systems for the marine industry.
The preferred location for this position is Vaasa (Finland) but also Helsinki, Turku (Finland), Trieste (Italy) are negotiable.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Process Engineer you will have the possibility to follow the entire lifecycle of our products from initial design to operational support through manufacturing, installation and commissioning at shipyard.
Your work will mainly focus on engineering solutions for fuel supply systems for LNG, Methanol and Ammonia.
You will be responsible of the design of piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID) and defining process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, compressors etc.). You will also be responsible for creating thermodynamic and pressure drop calculations/simulations, developing operating procedures and other supporting technical documents for the fuel supply system.
In this position you will be part of an international team working in close collaboration with other engineering disciplines as well as with customers, classification societies, suppliers and other stakeholders. Youll also have the opportunity to play an active role in the constant development activities for the fuel supply systems for all the fuels.

Requirements for the position

• MSc in Chemical and Process Engineering or Energy Technology
• Knowledge of the marine/shipbuilding industry is seen as an advantage
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Experience with Process simulation software (AspenTech, MATLAB, AFT Fathom)

The primary location for this role is Finland but this role can also be based in Italy where the annual salary range would be 27 887 EUR - 39 270 EUR , depending on seniority, and in accordance with the salary provisions in the National Collective Labor Agreement for workers in the metalworking and plant installation industry (CCNL Metalmeccanico). The final salary offered will depend on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the required competencies, and your relevant education, skills, and experience.
