Job summary

Forcepoint is seeking an experienced developer to work on its industry leading network security product. You will design and implement cross-network security solutions on Linux, contribute to developing and maintaining Forcepoint’s network security offerings, and mentor junior engineers within a global team.

The role emphasizes architectural integrity, secure coding practices, and deep OS knowledge, including filesystems, networking, and device drivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of C/C++ on Linux.
• Experience in AI-assisted software development.
• Strong OS internals and device driver fundamentals.
• Experience leading development projects and mentoring juniors.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding OS fundamentals: filesystems, networking, memory management.
• Experience with certificate management, code signing, secure communications, encryption.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience with C/C++ on Linux
• Experience in AI assisted software development
• Good knowledge of OS internals and device driver fundamentals
• Experience of leading development projects and the mentoring of junior developers
• Strong troubleshooting skills, good coding and source management practices
• Excellent debugging skills.
• Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals such as file systems, network protocol stacks, process management, interrupt handling, and memory management.
• Understanding or experience with certificate management, code signing, secure communications, encryption, trusted boot, or related topics.

Soft Skills

• Experience of leading development teams from a technical viewpoint.
• Ability to influence both the internal and external teams
• Self-motivated to research new skills and technologies
• Desire to develop talent and mentor junior engineers.
• Experience working in a cross functional organization with distributed teams.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of network security highly desired
• Experience developing and debugging kernel level code, system extensions and/or device drivers
• Prior experience developing security products
• Deep understanding of secure coding techniques, integrity measurement, and tamper detection.
• Good understanding of test frameworks.
• Direct experience with Agile methods.
• Exposure to virtualization and containerization.
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Solid understanding of build systems and continuous integration.
• Strong personal commitment to quality and repeatable processes.
